A tempting duck trap...
...was the capture facility built in 1874. But in 1935, due to a lack of ducks, it ceased operations.
The reason for this was the ever-increasing number of bathers, an island railway that picked up more visitors from Hörnum and the shooting practice of the soldiers in the wars of 1864 and 1914.
