The old Sylt costume
A surprising find in the attic made it possible to reconstruct an original costume.
Traditional costumes from Sylt can be traced back over three centuries.
In 1820, a bride with a "Hüüv", the black bonnet, walked down the aisle for the last time.
From 1850 the costume was no longer worn in public. In 1974, however, it was reworked based on an original and, to the delight of the people of Sylt and their guests, you can once again marvel at the Sylt traditional costume group in this unusual clothing on special occasions .
